What is Pepe?

Pepe launched in 2023 as a meme token based on a widely circulated internet image. The project claims no technical utility: its own site states plainly that the token has no intrinsic value and no expectation of financial return.

It rose sharply in its early period on social-media attention, becoming a defining example of the meme-token phenomenon.

Risks to weigh: this is among the highest-risk asset categories. No cash flow, no utility, and a price entirely dependent on crowd attention, which shifts fast. Many meme tokens have lost more than 90% of their value once the wave passed. Vietnamese users should note the 0.1% tax applies to each transfer, so frequent trading carries meaningful tax cost.
