What is PancakeSwap?

PancakeSwap is the largest decentralised exchange on BNB Chain, launched in 2020, using a liquidity-pool model similar to Uniswap but with much lower fees thanks to running on a cheaper network.

Beyond token swaps, the platform offers yield farming, staking and some play-to-earn games. CAKE is used for governance and participation in these products.

Risks to weigh: high farming yields often come with reward tokens that depreciate quickly from continuous issuance. As with any decentralised exchange, anyone can create a pool for any token, so the risk of encountering scam tokens is real.
