What is NEO?

NEO launched in 2014 in China, once dubbed "China's Ethereum" for also supporting smart contracts and decentralised applications. Its distinction was letting developers write contracts in mainstream languages like C# or Java, rather than learning a new specialised language.

The network has two tokens: NEO for governance, which generates GAS — a second token used to pay network transaction fees.

Risks to weigh: as one of the earliest smart-contract projects, NEO has gradually lost ground to Ethereum and newer, faster, cheaper networks. Its association with the Chinese market also exposed it when that country tightened crypto-asset regulation.

Where to buy NEO in Vietnam
