What is Celestia?

Celestia separates out one part of what traditional blockchains bundle together: focusing purely on transaction ordering and data availability, for other networks to use as a foundation instead of building this from scratch.

This approach is called modular architecture, unlike a model where one chain does everything. New projects can launch faster by building on Celestia rather than operating their own full security infrastructure.

Risks to weigh: this is a newer model, and real value depends on how many other networks actually choose to build on Celestia rather than doing it themselves or using a competitor. Modular architecture is a fairly technical concept, hard for non-specialists to evaluate.
